About
Welcome to the Cassoc website! Cassoc is the Catholic Students Society and is renowned for being one of the friendliest societies at the University of York. Cassoc aims to promote a sense of community within the university and everyone is welcome. We look at issues which affect us as students and as Christians and aim to explore and expand our knowledge of faith and its relationship to what we do and who we are.
At the same time it's important to have some fun! We have amazing socials at the start and end of each term, usually involving copious amounts of food and drinks, and we're often seen in the Charles on Thursday night after our weekly meetings! In the summer term we also go on a weekend retreat, to which everyone is welcome. Last year we went to Ampleforth for a retreat led by a Benedictine monk.
We meet on Thursdays at 8pm in More House, the Catholic chaplaincy on Heslington Lane. We usually have Rosary beforehand, at around 7.30pm. Feel free to come along to the main meeting or the rosary group, or both!
If you want any more information then contact us at cassoc@yusu.org or come along to one of our meetings!
